Brickendon Homestead - TAS (PB00 5335)

Keywords: Brickendon Homestead - TAS (PB00 5335) 7301 Longford Perth Launceston 7250 Midlands

Brickendon Homestead, only 5 minutes from Longford in Tasmania's northern midlands is a fascinating example of pioneering life from the 1820s and 1830s. All the buildings and grounds have been in continuous use for the past 180 years. The farm buildings were constructed from hand cut and pit sawn timber. The homestead is built from bricks that were fired on the property and still remain virtually in the original condition. A large bell at the homestead was rung to warn of danger and for meal times and has hung there since 1836.
