Swansea 1 - TAS (PB00 0631)

Keywords: Swansea 1 (PB00 0631)7190 Swansea Bark Mill Great Oyster Bay Glamorgan Spring Bay Meredith River Waterloo Point Schouten House Beach Kennedia Beach Maysons Bluff Caswell Beach Jubilee Beach Nine Mile Beach

Swansea lies on about half way up Tasmanias east coast on Great Oyster Bay, opposite Freycinet Peninsula. There is great swimming and good fishing. In town are several historic buildings including Morris’ General Store, operated by the Morris family for over 100 years. The Swansea Bark Mill on the north side of town processed Black Wattle bark, used in colonial times in the tanning industry. It was recently refurbished and is now an excellent museum. This photograph was taken on a glorious day when everything was just perfect. Still water, no wind, green grass great cloud formations and great timing...
